Generator rotor flux

Monitor magnetic flux for rotor poles

Purpose

Monitor magnetic flux individually for all rotor poles to get early detection of damage / wear.

Supplements shaft and bearing monitoring as magnetic imbalance can result in shaft runout and vibrations.

Reduce downtime caused by damage and corrective maintenance. Improve ability to do preventive maintenance.

Technical summary

The phase sensor keeps track of which rotor pole is in front of the flux sensor at any given time. The magnetic flux sensor is glued to the stator in the air gap between stator and rotor.

Measured magnetic flux can be based on a time interval or a number of revolutions.
